Project 2055 is a private research, development and education project that has been set up in Canterbury NZ to conduct R&D projects in relation to renewable energy sources; as it applies to food supply production, small scale lifestyle farming methods and transport, logistics and distribution issues, as we head towards 2055.
Drivertek International Ltd is a Canterbury based NZ Road Transport and Logistic training and consulting company specialising in fuel efficiency training, R&D of related issues and Industry education. To date all initial development work on Project 2055 is 100% sponsored by Drivertek International Ltd.
Project 2055 has a number of very achievable goals that it is targeting:
a) To research and develop methods and practices that will support intensive food crop production on small scale land holdings, fuel efficiently and carbon negative.
b) But particularly possible alternative supplies of power and fuel from these crops or crop residues.
c) Ethanol, hydrogen and bio-diesel production experiments, solar, micro hydro and wind electricity production and the transport and logistic issues involved in bringing future food crops to market.
d) Discovering how to extend the lessons learnt from small scale production to large scale farming practices.
e) Act as a blue print for the establishment of similar ventures in all NZ provinces, to take advantage of local conditions, assets and climatic conditions.
f) To identify, motivate and inspire the country’s back yard thinkers and tinkerers, inventers and mechanics to participate in finding credible local solutions to the problems of Global Warming and the demise of cheap carbon based fuels.
