Fuel Management
The Drivertek staff have a wide range of skills and experience in the Transport and Logistics Industry including:
Operations, Office Management, Branch Management, Crash Investigations, Transport law, Trauma Counseling and Project management.
The Drivertek specialty is Fleet Fuel Management, Driver training, Analysis and Monitoring and it is in this field that Drivertek can really save you money.
Not so long ago, saving money on fuel was the path to higher profit margins. Today, it’s the key to survival. More than ever, fuel economy should rank high among your business priorities. In the very near future, high fuel prices may be the rule, and not the exception.
In 1993 the U.K Energy Efficiency Office stated that ‘Efficient fleets achieve fuel performance up to 20% better than the average and that about 50% of companies do not have effective fuel management or fuel monitoring programs.’
This therefore raises three questions
1. Do you have an effective fuel management or fuel monitoring program?
2. What would you spend a 20% fuel saving on?
3. What can be done about it?
At this point in time there are approximately 400 interventions available that claim to improve fuel efficiency.
The first intervention that any Transport Operator must take is to obtain accurate fuel consumption data. Sound like common sense?
Research in the U.K has proven time and time again, that until you’ve got the driver focused on fuel-efficient defensive driving and can monitor for consistent performance, the rest is just icing on the cake.
We monitor maintenance reports and fuel consumption to identify vehicles and drivers. Then train your staff how to do it right and develop a fuel efficiency culture for all staff.
This has an immediate affect on your bottom line by reducing fuel costs, lowering damage claims and falling maintenance costs, slowing tyre replacement costs and improving customer relations.

To whom it may concern
After 30 years in the Transport Industry, I started Drivertek International Ltd in 1999 in response to a need for better, smarter drivers. The need was identified not only from company owners, but also from the drivers themselves. And from this foundation came the full range of services that Drivertek offer today.
The Drivertek specialty is Fleet Fuel Management, Driver training, Analysis and Monitoring and it is in this field that Drivertek can really save you money. Not so long ago, saving money on fuel was the path to higher profit margins. Today, it’s the key to survival. With this in mind we identified 420 different fuel interventions that claimed to reduce fuel consumption currently on the market. I divided them into their natural groupings and tested or obtained and analysed existing test results of the apparent top performers in each category.
We applied a number of questions to each, but the priority was:
Do they really work?
If so, are they cost effective?
What effect does a combining of proven interventions have on a company’s bottom line?
Which combination achieves this result most cost effectively?
Then over the past seven years we have conducted independent fuel trials on a range of different fuel additives and fuel consumption reducing products or techniques, in order to establish an effective “Knock down” package to achieve this result. While most products appeared to have some effect in reducing fuel costs, three in particular stood out above the rest.
This in turn has led to this group of three being selected and developed into the package we now have available.
The first intervention that must be taken by anyone attempting to reduce fuel costs is to obtain accurate fuel consumption data and relate it to a cost model that quickly shows the effect of the intervention. This has led to the discovery of the original “cost tracker” system and ongoing development with the designer into the product we have today. While the original concept of this program was to track all costs within a transport company, the fuel analysis section has been developed into a very powerful tool. It has the effect of turning the spotlight on the key driver in rising costs for any vehicle fleet in 2006, fuel.

Secondly, we looked for and found a fuel additive that actually worked. I have consistently had results in excess of a15% saving with Chornco 2082 Diesel and the comprehensive detailed analysis reports are attached from NZ Army, Works Infrastructure and the DSIR report is also available online.

Lastly but by no means least, top quality driver training and back up support. There is no doubt and it is well proven that this is by far the best option for gaining long term fuel efficiency results. However driver training that is not focused on achieving the desired result can quickly become inefficient and far from cost effective. By using the “cost tracker” system to monitor the results of the Chornco 2082 Diesel additive, under performing drivers and or vehicles can quickly be identified and an appropriate and targeted training plan can quickly be implemented.

From here any number of the other 400 odd interventions can also be applied to further increase the potential savings originally gained from this successful start point.
The question of rising fuel prices playing havoc with your company bottom line, comes down to one question “What are you doing about it?
This excellent start point is how we can help.
