| # 44 Finally a Stern opinion |

Finally, a Stern report card to the Politicians running the planet from the headmaster of the UK Treasury, basically it says that little George W and his loyal sidekick Tony, along with Johnny from Australia, should be expelled due to a total lack of social participation while at school.
They appear to be bullies that are constantly starting fights in the school playground and trying to steel every other kid’s toys. George runs the biggest gang in the schoolyard through fear and intimidation. “You’re either with us or against us” is the constant chant that echoes in the hallways. Well the other day Headmaster Stern issued his report, a report aimed at the capitalists amongst George’s little schoolyard gang, and that’s pretty much all of them. If we don’t start doing something about the state of the planet, it is going to cost you trillions and trillions of dollars, his report went on to say that global warming, if unchecked will send the world economy into a recession that the capitalist free market may not ever be able to pull itself out of.
Boy did that get them all sitting up straight in there seats and paying attention. It did not matter that some of us have been screaming this same message at them for years, now that their wallets are under threat, even the staunchest rednecks amongst them are starting to pay attention. To all the rest of you non-believers that are still out there, that think that this will never happen, that this is just so much greenie, hippy, radical mumbo-jumbo designed to put fear into the good honest consumers out there who so happily buy the corporate products every week and further fill their already overflowing bank vaults, try this; Shut your garage door, start your cars engine and sit there and read the paper for a couple of hours. Go ahead, do the planet a favour, it will be the best couple of litres of fuel you have ever squandered.
Any of you that think that this is a rather silly idea and will ultimately result in your demise, HELLO.
Currently in this playground of ours there are 800,000,000 (800 Million) motor vehicles churning out poisonous gases every minute of every day and its going to kill us all. That does not include planes, industrial chimneys, household fires and all the other s..t that puts these gases into our lungs. Get off your collective arses and start doing something about this NOW.
We will only have one crack at this guys and it has to start happening NOW.
Finally one of the world Pollies, Ex United States President Al Gore has just been in this country promoting a documentary film called “An Inconvenient Truth” go and see it.
Or better yet buy the DVD it was released on 21 November 2006 by Paramount Home Entertainment.
At long last one of the worlds the rich and powerful players has started to do something about this.
We can’t wait for the bullies in the playground (The World leaders and Corporate Leaders) to do it, it up to US.
If you do nothing else but plant a tree, multiply that by the 6 Billion of us that share the playground and you’ve got a s..t load of trees.
Stop buying things from companies that are doing nothing to fix the problem, (that will get their attention, pretty dam quick) and support the ones that are. But if you don’t do anything then you’re as bad as they are.
Oh, and by the way, if you’re currently enjoying the cheaper fuel prices and driving all over the place like a crazy man, this price drop is caused by two things; it is the end of the Northern hemispheres summer driving season and demand has slackened, and two the greenback is as soft as jelly at the moment and the Kiwi is up too .66c.
The price will double if our corporate exporters get their way and force our dollar down against the greenback.
And what will happen again next March, you guessed it, the Northern hemispheres summer driving season starts all over again. Enjoy the playground while you can folks.
Breaking News, Little George W just had an inconvenient truth jammed up somewhere the sun doesn’t shine in the Mid Term elections. Mustn’t forget Al Gore is a politician and a Democrat after all said and done, and Little George did steal the Presidency off him a couple of years back.
Ah, revenge is a dish best eaten cold.
But then, that is, just a “cynical old granddads” point of view
